10 Oxymorons
There’s just nothing better in the English language than a combination of contradictory terms, aka oxymoron. There are several hundred of them, here are my top 10 in no particular order. Military Intelligence Microsoft Works Legally Drunk Definite Maybe Pretty Ugly Taped Live Soft Rock Good Grief Same Difference Department of Interior (responsible for everything...
Read MoreSweep!
That’s what the crowd chanted over and over again late last night at Kaufmann Stadium as the The KC Royals swept the NY Yankees 5-2. Good things really do happen to bad teams. The last place Royals (20) games out of first in the AL Central division badly needed a 3 game home stretch like this against a clearly more dominant team to get them re-motivated/recharged for the long remainder of the season. The new manager seemed to have the guys fired up these past three days or possibly they just got really sick of losing. Whatever it was, it worked. Despite the 3 game win, the Royals still...

Not a reference to former Attorney General John Ashcroft but rather homage to one of the greatest rock bands ever. The Eagles are on TV right now and are amazing. Song after song after song is incredible. These guys look rather old and the beat is a little slower than I remember it on their Greatest Hits albums but none-the-less these guys are amazing. Each member doing their own solos is unreal to watch. I’ve never seen them live but if it’s anything like it was on NBC tonight I have definitely been missing out. I’m not really sure why they chose Melbourne, Australia for their last gig...

As of June 1 I will no longer be using my Yahoo e-mail account (I actually pay the $20/year fee for POP access) and have decided to take advantage of the sweet .Mac sale going on right now. I can get the .Mac account for $30.00 off the retail $99.99 price. I realize I’m actually paying more for an e-mail (some of you may grimace at paying for e-mail – I used to be just like you) but I believe this will be the answer for my particular...
Read MoreiPod Just Got Better
A recent post by Christopher Breen inspired me to modify my iPod to display the battery life in numeric format. The default battery indicator icon looked fine but didn’t provide enough information as to the total amount of time remaining. This may not be important to some, but if you are like me and use your Backlight pretty much all the time, even during the day, knowing exactly how much time you have left can prove to be rather important. Anyway, I tried the simple modification which took less than 5 minutes to complete and thought I’d post a couple pictures of what it looks like since...
